In many communities, the library is the only organization offering free activities for babies and toddlers. Learn how to create exceptional, early literacy rich programs for this demographic that will have caregivers lining up to participate. Explore manipulatives, draw on a partner, see examples of successful activities, and learn why these activities are important for early literacy development.

Kendra Jones is a baby whisperer and toddler enchantress working as the Youth & Family Services Coordinator for Timberland Regional Library. She is a member of the ALSC Managing Children’s Services and Advocacy and Legislation committees and is Co-Chair of the Diversity within ALSC Task Force.

Brooke Newberry, an early literacy librarian in La Crosse, Wisconsin, is a fan of anything involving little ones under 5. Self appointing herself “The Beyoncé of Babies”, she loves to sing, dance, and play at every storytime and throughout the day as well.
